Senior Shares Experiment with Middle School Science Club

Senior Jack Lane recently treated the Middle School Science Club to a special presentationLane shared an experiment related to his research of solutions to phosphorus-laden runoff from agricultural fields and golf courses in Linda Ford’s environmental science class. Ford noted that potential solution to this problem is to surround fields and courses with bags filled with pellets made from soybean hulls, a plentiful resource in the rural counties of Ohio. “Jack was a member of the Seven Hills golf team that won the state championship last fall,” Lane said. “He has a keen interest in course maintenance and wanted to know how much runoff from his favorite courses add to the eutrophication of lakes and waterways in the Midwest.”
